COLLEGE STATION, Texas. — The Texas A&M men’s lacrosse team is currently accepting
applications to fill two vacant assistant coaching positions.

The Fightin’ Texas Aggies compete in the MCLA Division 1, Lone Star Alliance (LSA)
conference. A&M is a premier University boasting more than 74,000 students and is
consistently a top ranked university for both Engineering & Business undergraduate programs
along with one of the strongest alumni networks in the country. A top destination for Texas
students, Texas A&M was recently named the #1 “Best Value” university in Texas. The Aggies
have the longest running college program in Texas.

The incoming coach will be responsible for running practices, coordinating offense/defensive
strategies, and player development. The Fightin’ Texas Aggie men’s lacrosse team is a student-
run collegiate sport club at Texas A&M University that is consistently ranked among the top
programs in the state. The sport club is supported by the Doc Hall Foundation, a 501(c) (3)
organization created by the alumni to provide financial support for the growth of the program.
The Fightin’ Texas Aggies are currently led by the tenured Tony Scazzero (Cornell ‘74), who
has been at the helm of the program since 1978 and amassed over 500 career wins, 11 conference
titles, and 9 National Tournament appearances for the program as the Head Coach.

Duties for this job include recruiting student-athletes, assisting with practice plans, player
development, game-day duties and coordinating with Coach Scazzero. This position spans the
full academic year with practices and competitions during the school week as well as typically
on the weekends.

This job requires occasional travel during both the fall and spring seasons.

  • Uphold the culture of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie lacrosse team by enforcing team guidelines and
  • continuing the tradition of high standards for both athletes and coaches
  • Be present for team practices/functions
  • Provide support to Coach Tony Scazzero with practices & games
  • Assist with communication to recruiting candidates

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Coaching experience
  • Playing experience at the college level or professional preferred

Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and qualifications. College
Station is centrally located between Austin (2hr), Dallas (2.5hr), and Houston (1.5hrs). Housing
and travel allowances possible. A&M Alumni connections exist for candidates interested in
working camps, and/or travel club in Summer/Fall in addition to college. Long term intent is
develop a full-time year-round position including HS recruiting & youth camp on campus.

through the Doc Hall Foundation created in 2005 by the alumni and supporters of TX A&M
Lacrosse. The Men’s Lacrosse program is benefited by more than 50 years of former students
and parent supporters.
